Devils claw's main constituents include phenylpropanoids such as flavonoids, actenoside and triterpenes, but also iridoid glycosides such as harpagophytum and arpagophytum

such as harpagoside, harpagide and procumbide - a mixture of phytosterols. Unsaturated fatty acids complete the picture,

cinnamic acid and chlorogenic acid.
