The EM Activator optimizes the activation of the stock solution (EM-1®) by A+ (cane sugar molasses), thus forming EM-A. It enables stable anaerobic fermentation thanks to its airlock and the temperature-stabilizing heating element.
ACTIVATE EM-1
EM-1 is, in a way, the "stock solution" of EM®. It comes in the form of a brown liquid with an acidic pH, containing 80 strains of carefully selected natural microorganisms (non-GMO). It is generally only used to produce EM-A (Activated EM), which can be used in a dilution of 2 to 15% depending on the intended use.
EM-1 and A+ (cane sugar molasses, a sugar by-product) constitute the nutrient solution used to activate EM®. Once activated, this mixture will be called EM-A. This mixture of Effective Microorganisms, which are found freely in nature, is used to increase the natural resistance of humans, soil, plants, water, and animals.
HOW TO PREPARE EM-A?
For 90% water, use 5% EM-1 and 5% A+ (molasses).
For example, for a 10L activator, use 0.5L of EM-1; 0.5L of A+; and 9L of water.
To obtain a good mixture, proceed as follows:
Dissolve half a liter of molasses in hot water
Add cold water
Add EM-1
Stabilize the temperature between 23 and 30°C
Close the activator
Fill the airlock
After 7 days, EM-A is ready to use.
Useful Information:
You may notice small white flakes on the surface of EM-Active, which has a positive effect on the product and its use.
The sweet and sour smell is a good indicator. If EM-Active smells bad, it is no longer good.
It is better to store EM® preparations in plastic bottles, rather than glass or iron bottles (the product breathes, and the pressure can break the glass).
It is very important to use good quality water for EM® solutions. Rainwater, spring water, or filtered water are better than tap water (which contains chlorine). Chlorine or other chemicals reduce the effectiveness of EM®.
The product must have a pH below 3.8.
Storage: between 0°C and 40°C. (Shelf life: approximately 2 weeks)
