Aegir is a natural source of limestone that helps to raise soil pH levels over the long term. The shell fragments that make it up are very rich in calcium carbonate (96.1%). The pH of the soil is permanently raised.
For use in Organic Farming
Aegir is made from shell fragments from the North Sea. This 100% natural source of limestone (96.1% calcium carbonate) gradually and sustainably raises the pH of the soil. The shells are extracted, cleaned, heated and then coarsely ground. In this way, buffer elements are gradually made available, effectively raising the pH without risk to microbiology (no pH shock).
Aegir also contains various minerals and trace elements that benefit soil fertility, and therefore the plant layer.
Aegir can be spread directly on the soil, or added as a supplement to Bokashi, to prevent the material from becoming too acidic.
