Dry organic Bokashi for herbivores is similar to the fresh variant in terms of its effect. However, this variant is dried and can therefore be kept for longer. It also promotes digestion in a more subtle way than fresh bokashi. So it's easier to keep using it for longer.
Our fresh bokashi is dried and ground naturally. This is how this dried variant came about. The drying process has rendered a number of micro-organisms that need moisture more or less inactive. But as soon as they come into contact with moisture, they become active again.
The activation of micro-organisms naturally takes some time, which means that the effect will be slightly less than that of fresh bokashi. As a result, dried bokashi has a gentler effect and produces less violent changes. So there's no risk of rapid overdose either.
Virtually all animals enjoy eating this product and it can be supplied in large packets. It is therefore more suitable for larger users.
Bokashi is recommended if your horse is eating haylage/silage/conditioned hay (not if your horse is eating hay), in the following situations:
When changing feed ;
during the recovery period;
to promote good intestinal transit
to support the coat
to help maintain a healthy digestive system;
You should also take a preventive course of 2 weeks to 1 month twice a year (in spring and autumn). It is beneficial for the intestinal flora during the transition from one season to the next. Your horse will have more energy to enjoy itself.
What is bokashi?
Bokashi is Japanese for 'well-fermented organic matter'. The principle of conversion by fermentation has been used for centuries to preserve certain ingredients. This method is based on EM (effective micro-organism) technology. Thanks to this fermentation, vitamins, minerals and trace elements become more bio-available. The molasses is entirely consumed by the micro-organisms during fermentation and transformed into precious nutrients!
