Test kit for urine analysis to measure KPU.

How does the test work?

When you order the test kit, you will receive an envelope containing the instructions and materials needed for the test.

Collect your horse's urine and send it to the laboratory in the envelope provided.

Within a few weeks, you will receive the test results by e-mail.

What you need to know in advance

If you carry out the test, you should not give any mineral feed or vitamin B supplements for 10 days. Some loose mineral supplements are fine (such as magnesium), but minerals such as zinc, sulphur, manganese and selenium should be stopped anyway. The mineral buffet should also be temporarily withdrawn.

For example, most of the balancing products and basic foods should be stopped for 10 days. This is not a problem for most horses, as they can usually do without them for some time. If you're not sure whether your horse can cope with this, or if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email us.

What happens when the results arrive?

When you receive the results, you will not receive personalised advice. Instead, you will always receive a general advice protocol. This contains the basic protocol you can follow to reduce KPU. Bear in mind that this protocol is not specifically tailored to your horse. It is therefore best to ask a practitioner (or us) if the protocol is suitable for your horse or if any modifications need to be made.

We advise you to always carry out the KPU treatment under supervision.
