A little practical advice: most of them put the bucket in an old car tyre - something like that happens from time to time or you can sometimes get it for free from companies offering tyre changes. Our tubs fit exactly into such tyres, but be careful: pay attention to the inside diameter of the car tyre! There are different sizes. So there is a reusable ‘impact protection’.

Feeding advice: As our mineral feed contains only a minimal amount of molasses, horses generally only eat it when they really need minerals. This mineral feed can only be fed to horses and ponies up to 120g per animal per day due to the higher levels of trace elements compared to complete feed.

Additives

 Nutritional additives per kg :

 6,000mg zinc (3b 605) in the form of zinc sulphate, 

 3,000mg manganese (E5) in the form of manganese (II) oxide, 

 2,000mg copper (E4) as copper (II) sulphate pentahydrate, 

 800mg iron (E1) in the form of iron (II) sulphate monohydrate, 

 100mg iodine (3b 202) in the form of anhydrous calcium iodate, 

 40mg cobalt (3b 801) as cobalt (II) acetate tetrahydrate, 

 8mg of selenium (E8) in the form of sodium selenite.

 Magnesium: 4%.

Shipment of lick tub(s)

 Our aim is to ship our products to you as safely and intactly as possible. For this reason, there are a number of restrictions on the shipment of OKAPI products:

The maximum weight per package is 20 kg.

A maximum of two lick trays are sent per parcel, otherwise the goods may be damaged.

 Store in a cool, dry place.

What makes our OKAPI  so special?

 ✔ recipes regularly revised on the basis of current research

 ✔ exclusively inorganic minerals and trace elements

 ✔ no fillers, no brewer's yeast, no oil

 ✔ no organic selenium, no hidden sugars like apple pomace

 ✔ only 2-3% molasses (depending on variety) - this is used to bind the dust, not to attract the horse.

As we deliberately omit ‘tasty components’ such as oils or sugars, you can offer our mineral feed according to your needs:

Put the daily ration in a feeding bowl

Offer your horse if he wishes: let him take 2-3 mouthfuls

Remove the feeding bowl

Offer again the next day

🐴 If your horse doesn't eat the mineral feed, it's usually a sign that he doesn't currently need it. In this case, simply take a break for 2 to 3 weeks and offer it again according to the schedule.

If your horse is well balanced, you can also offer him as much mineral food as he wants, for example in the form of a lick bucket in the stable
