What are OKAPI herbs for intestinal well-being?

Herbs for intestinal well-being is a blend of pure herbs containing mainly herbs from the "anise-cumin-fennel" spectrum, which are also much appreciated by us humans when the tummy gets tight.

They support the horse's natural intestinal environment and are therefore also suitable as part of intestinal cleansing measures, for example in place of or alternating with bitter herbs.

  • How long should I give OKAPI Herbs for intestinal comfort?

OKAPI Herbs for intestinal comfort should never be given for more than six to eight weeks at a time. It is then recommended to take a break of four to six weeks or to switch to another blend of herbs. This also corresponds to the horse's natural feeding behaviour. Alternating between OKAPI Bitter Herbs, OKAPI Herbs for intestinal well-being and OKAPI Grass Pasture every fortnight throughout the winter has proved its worth.

How do I feed OKAPI Herbs for intestinal well-being?

OKAPI Herbs for intestinal comfort can be incorporated directly into the horse's existing diet and added dry or moistened to forage or sprinkled on hay.

How do I calculate the right dosage for my horse?

To calculate the appropriate dose of OKAPI Intestinal Wellness Herbs, follow these steps:

    Determine the horse's weight:

The horse's weight can be determined either by weighing it, measuring it with a tape measure, or using apps such as the BCI app from our partner Sanoanimal (available free on Google Play and Apple Store).

    Follow dietary recommendations:

The general recommendations for OKAPI products refer to a 600kg horse. The recommended daily amount is 30g to 50g (about a handful).

Adapt the dose: if the horse weighs 300 kg, for example, the dose should be adapted accordingly. The calculation is as follows: daily dose (50 g) / 600 kg × weight of horse (300 kg) = daily ration (25 g).

This method of calculation is used to determine the appropriate quantity.
