What is OKAPI Junior Support?
OKAPI Junior Support is a dietary supplement for young horses, specially developed to support their nutrition during the growth phase. It provides high-quality essential amino acids such as lysine, methionine and threonine, which make an important contribution to protein metabolism.
Lecithin from sunflower oil supplements the daily diet with valuable phospholipids. Diatomaceous earth provides silicon, which contributes to the nutrition of horses in the growth phase. The plants contained in the product, such as fennel, rosehip and meadowsweet, supplement the diet with natural ingredients.
Spirulina and leonardite complete the formula. OKAPI Junior Support also provides valuable omega-3 fatty acids of plant origin.

Is Junior Support suitable for my horse?
OKAPI Junior Support is suitable for all young horses in the growth phase. This includes, in particular:

OKAPI Junior Support has been specially developed to supplement the daily ration during the growth phase. It can be given from weaning until the end of the foal's growth. Depending on the breed and development, this is generally recommended until the age of six.
During the period of physical development and the start of training, OKAPI Junior Support helps to meet the needs for high-quality amino acids and other selected nutrients.
Once the growth phase is complete, feeding with OKAPI Junior Support can be gradually reduced.
How to give OKAPI Junior Support?
OKAPI Junior Support can simply be mixed with a handful of soaked hay pellets, incorporated into concentrated feed or sprinkled on moistened hay.
As some horses find the taste unusual at first, it is recommended to start with a small amount and gradually increase to the recommended daily amount.
How do I calculate the appropriate dosage for my horse?
To calculate the appropriate dose of OKAPI soothing herbs, you can follow these steps:
Determine the horse's weight: the horse's weight can be determined either by weighing it, measuring it with a tape measure, or using applications such as the BCI application from our partner Sanoanimal (available free of charge on Google Play and the Apple Store).
Follow the feeding recommendations: the general recommendations for OKAPI products refer to a 600 kg horse. The recommended daily amount is 2 ml (1 measuring spoon = 15 g).
Adjust the dose: if the horse weighs 300 kg, for example, the dose should be adjusted accordingly.
The calculation is as follows: daily dose (30 g) / 600 kg × horse's weight (300 kg) = 15 g daily ration. This calculation method allows you to determine the appropriate amount.
