Timothy chaff
Our timothy chaff is coarsely cut and contains only timothy and no other additives.
Timothy has a low sugar and starch content, making it suitable for horses with sensitive metabolisms. But also for horses that put on weight easily.
The gentle drying process preserves the nutrients. Timothy hay is softer than alfalfa, but its structure is slightly longer, which means horses have to chew it for longer. This makes it ideal for fast eaters, who take longer to chew their morsels.
Timothy generally contains less energy than alfalfa.
Why feed our timothy roughage?
To replace roughage for older horses/ponies or for horses that don't get enough roughage due to circumstances.
Ideal for mixing with pellets to increase chewing movements.
Increased saliva production, which is good for the pH of the stomach.
To allow your horse or pony to take longer to eat
As a healthy reward
